Panga Panga description
Pang Panga, as it is commonly known, is distributed from East Africa.
The heartwood has a dark chocolate brown colour with alternating light and dark bands. It is a fairly straight grained timber that has decorative figure.
Panga Panga is classed as a hardwood that has a very high density and is not ideal for steam bending. This timber can be worked with hand tools with a severe blunting effect.
It is generally a slow drying lumber with some surface checking and a small movement in service.
Panga Panga wood flooring is suitable for all domestic and most commercial projects, and is a very unusual species that makes for a unique appearance.
