Kempas description

About Kempas

Kempas, as it is commonly known, is mostly distributed from Malaysia.

Its heartwood has an orange-red to brown colour with numerous yellow flecks, and it usually has an interlocked grain.

Kempas is classed as a hardwood that has a medium density and moderate qualities for steam bending. This timber can be worked with hand tools for an occasionally severe blunting effect.

It is generally an easy drying lumber, with some splitting and a moderate amount of movement in service.

Kempas Flooring Uses

Kempas flooring is suitable for all domestic and some light commercial projects, and is a very popular species commonly used for high-end refurbishments and new builds.
