1,000 metres of Douglas Fir timber was used by Rocket Scenery for the set of Hedda Gabler, at The Duke of York Theatre in London.
Andy Sharp, one of the Managing Directors of Rocket Scenery said, “Buying timber for theatre set construction is a high-risk venture as there are specific demands on the wood, which can’t be guaranteed unless the wood is specifically engineered. We did a lot of research re-sourcing wood for our sets, but were unable to find a suitable UK based company. The wood supplied by The Natural Wood Floor Company is far better than any other domestic product. It is such a fantastic luxury to be able to specify the properties of the timber supplied.”
