How do I acclimatise my wood prior to installation?

Depending on the type of flooring you have purchased the acclimatisation period will differ according to site conditions.

It is strongly recommended that solid wood should be left to acclimatise at house temperature for a minimum of 10 days prior to fitting, and that it should be stacked and spaces should be allowed every 5-8 boards to help air flow.

For engineered flooring it is strongly recommended to keep it in its original packaging during this process as the product is dried to a lower moisture content to allow use with under floor heating. You will achieve the correct acclimatisation by only opening the ends of the packs.

In both cases the wood must be laid flat and not stood on its ends.
