Wood flooring for bathrooms
Question Time: Is it possible to fit real wood flooring in a bathroom without risk of damage?
Answer: Engineered flooring is a better choice for a bathroom than solid timber, says Peter Keane Director of The Natural Wood Floor Company.
‘Ours is constructed from layers of hardwood (some companies use softwood and high density fibreboard) fixed at 90 degree angles to each other to create a strong stable board that resists movement and warping caused by moisture and temperature changes. The top layer of the board can be a hardwood of your choice so when the flooring is down, you won’t be able to tell it from solid wood’.
